Life after All-star....
Let's pow-wow now that the outsiders are gone

ALL-STARCelebs at every party in town, paparazzi flashing at real red carpet affairs, traffic thick as a Manhattan rush hour? You can bet this was a brand new Dallas. Last week was crazy for DFW. From packed clubs to packed malls, it definitely was unprecedented by many standards.

The observer put an article out last week and they made a pretty keen observation. They said that there was a correlation between a city having it's run in urban entertainment, and that city hosting the All-star games. The recent exposure of Dallas music nationwide was timed with an event that brought a mass exodus of people in to witness our scene first hand. This combination could very well continue that streak.

Dallas artist showed out during the games. They were side by side rockin' it with the best and they looked like they had every right to. I've done music in Dallas for 13 years and I've never felt the presence of a commercially viable scene until now. If you think it's just the Boogie, then I'm sorry, but you are completely missing the point. The boogie is just one part of a vibrant culture of musicians who have all been hungry for so long. With the #5 radio market in the country, we have the ability to be game changers and trend setters for the entire country.

DFW I hope this last weekend was a wake up call. We can be just as strong and independent as the big city markets that came before us. Now you want me to really put it in perspective? In just one year with the super bowl, you are going to get a chance to shine even brighter. What happens before then is crucial: The more leg work you do now, the bigger that pay off then will be. I saw so much hustle in the months and weeks leading to All-star.

Don't you think that's how you should have been this whole time?

It's never too late...
