“Nada no es Posible.” This was instilled in the 26 year old at an early age by his Panamanian parents. “My family is the quintessential example of chasing the ‘American Dream’.” After spending his early childhood in San Diego, K.D.’s mother quickly realized that Texas was a safer alternative to the drugs and violence of San Diego. “With the exception of indoor plumbing and electricity, the neighborhood resembled the city of Colon. My mother wanted better for us.”

While growing up in Fort Worth, it was an impromptu visit with the burgeoning rap legend Twisted Black that motivated K.D. to rap. “Twisted’s album Look What The Streets Made was like scripture to me and everyone in the city. I knew this was my calling.” This new path wouldn’t come easy. “I was kicked out of the group I created in high school, and I lost my job due to the aftermath of 9/11.” These events proved to be a moment of clarity.

With his life savings and an entrepreneur spirit, K.D. ventured into the jewelry business. “I started K.D.’s Master Grillz to fill a void in my community and have made grills for the likes of Chingy, Tatum Bell, Mike Huff, and Big Tuck”. It was the encounter with Big Tuck that caused K.D. to become passionate about rapping again. “Just watching Tuck will his way to his dream inspired me.”

K.D. quickly returned to the studio and created The Duke of Tha Souf. This album quietly moved over 8,000 units and produced gems such as “Hood His A$$ Out”, “Draped Up”, and “Shorty”. It featured Southern Rap’s hottest stars such as Big Tuck, Tum-Tum, Fat B, Big Chief, and production by Jai (“Come To Me” by P-Diddy). The Duke of Tha Souf also turned the heads of critics leading to features in O-Zone and Murder Dog magazines as one of the most under-rated rappers to watch.

“I should have sold five times as many albums, but I was lacking a solid marketing push. I needed someone to truly understand me and believe in my vision. I am trying to build a movement, a brand, and a lifestyle that incorporates honesty, integrity, and respect.” K.D.’s prayers where answered when his barber told him about a client who had a knack for making things happen. I have headlined concerts with Jody Breeze and Trae. I’m on the cover of magazines and in talks with several clothing lines. I’m speaking to kids about values, goals, and the importance of graduating from high school. I’m providing school supplies and athletic gear so these kids have every chance at success. I am using my blessings and making a real impact!”

2010 will be the year K.D.’s hard work begins to pay off with the release of Mirror Watchin featuring Dorough Music which mix tape DJ’s are calling a certified hit. Following up with the banger “So ABOMBINISS” featuring Paul Wall, Fat B, and production by Jai. Also he is releasing a mix tape by Hustle Squad & Fleet Dj’s DJ Kaos properly titled Da Duke 2.0 ABOMINISS. All this while maintaining the successful jewelry store, Gem City. “All my life people underestimated me. Now I am going to show the world what ABOMBINISS is”
